Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Autumn Road

AUTUMN! WHAT A FANTASTIC TIME OF THE YEAR!

Along the many highways and byways, change is imminent: change in season brings about crisp, cool mornings along with the bursting forth of vivid reds, burnt oranges, spun gold as leaves intensify in brilliance during their own change. Within this anticipation is yet another eager time of awakening. The change in color announces the time to venture cross country in search of nature's most glorious landscape.

Autumn Road

  The road through Autumn
Quintessence of change
Vivid hues, falling leaves
Country landscapes proclaim

Rural dirt, city asphalt
Tree-lined profusely for flair
 Teasing breezy fall days
Invite breaths of fresh air

Leaf peeping painted landscapes
Richly colored in fall
Blending yet contrasting
In tune with nature's call

Dense forests of Tennessee
Colorful beyond compare
Quaking Aspens of Washington
Rich shades echoingly declare

Beauty in the Old North State
Unique canopy of intense views
Scenic byways, majestic mountains
Any ol' direction you choose

 Maine, New York, Pennsylvania
 Transitioning from leafy green
Vermont to California
Ablaze betwixt 'n' between

Sights 'n' sounds jointly appease

Magnificence to behold
Tree branches release gracefully
Vivid reds, burnt oranges, spun gold

"I've never known anyone yet who doesn't suffer
a certain restlessness when autumn rolls around. . . .
We're all eight years old again and anything is possible."

~Sue Grafton
